California Chapter 7 exemptions under System 2 It states

This answer was rated:

California Chapter 7 exemptions under System 2

It states that under personal exemptions, you can claim the following:
Animals, crops, appliances, furnishings, household goods, books, musical
instruments and clothing to $525 per item.

Does this mean that the most I can claim for all appliances is $525 or does it mean that I can claim $525 for a washer and $525 for a dryer and $525 for a fridge?

Same thing for the other catagories.
$525 for a couch, $225 for a chair, $100 for a table or $525 for all furniture.

Hi Customer,

If you choose System 2, you are allowed to keep everything in that category that has a value of $525 or less. The statute does not mean you are allowed only $525 total - there is no maximum for this category.
