If I have a couple of creditors that have been very workable

Resolved Question:

If I have a couple of creditors that have been very workable and extended credit or lowered interest rates when they didn't have to do either & I'm filing for a Chapter 7, is there any way to pay back some choice lenders and not others? Thanks!

Hi JACustomer,

After the Bankruptcy is closed (in about 6 months after filing), you are free to pay back any creditors you want to, even though you don't have to because those debts are discharged. You must, though, list all creditors on the Bankruptcy petition, even if you want to eventually make payments to them.
