Resolved Question:

I had a charpter 7 discharge in November 2003. I live in Florida, but plan on moving to kansas this month. How soon can I file for Chapter 7 again. Both of us will only have social security and can not pay all the bills.

Hi JACustomer,
When was the Bankruptcy petition actually filed?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
not sure , maybe two month before discharge

You can file again once it has been 8 years from the date of filing of the previous Chapter 7. This means you can file again in September of next year.
By the way, Social Security income is exempt from collection for most debts. You just have to make sure your bank knows that all the money in your account is from Social Security, so that creditors cannot touch it.
