are the taxes paid yet? and how mucha re the penalties?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
No, only a portion of the taxes have been paid since the person first filed for bankruptcy in 2006. The person was making payments to the bankruptcy trustee thinking the trustee was paying the County Treasurer only to find out after being discharged that only a small portion of the money paid to the trustee had been paid toward taxes. In the meantime, penaltis continued to build up on the unpaid taxes. The property could not be sold in a tax sale because of the bankruptcy but should the penalties have continued to be added during the period the person was going through bankruptcy?

the trustee should have paid the full amount for the taxes, and penalties should not have accrued if the debt was listed in the bankruptcy.
