I want to apply to get a teaching fellowship $8000.00 grant

Customer Question

I want to apply to get a teaching fellowship $8000.00 grant for teacher improvement. If I apply for this will our chapter 13 trustee say it is eligible to go into our bankruptcy, meaning that $8,000.00 would go to pay off part of it?

The Chapter 13 requires that the funds be paid into the plan. However, since you have not yet applied for the grant, consider having your attorney contact the trustee and ask him to agree to abandon your grant eligibility as it currently has no value.
