The state of Texas does not allow wage garnishment.

what can they do?

Not much of anything. Your homestead and most of the property in it is exempt from attachment. If you have any real property that is NOT your main home, they could put a lien on that and force its sale. But all wages, household furnishings, personal property up to a value of $60,000 (for a family, $30K for a single person) are all exempt.
