WE ARE CURRENTLY IN A CHAPTER 13- OHIO AND WONDER IF THERE IS A WAY TO CONVERT TO 7 OTHER THAN A CHANGE IN INCOME THAT WOULD QUALIFY US. wE MAKE MORE THAN THE STATE ALLOWABLE.

Hello,

Thank you for your question. I am happy to assist you.

You would need to reduce your income to qualify for the means test in order to convert to a 7 and obtain a discharge. Unfortunately that is the only way. If you do not pass the means test, you are not eligible for a Ch 7 discharge.

I hope that the information which I provided was helpful to you.

Best wishes for a successful outcome. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to submit them to me directly.

I just ran the numbers and see that we do pass the means test-?? My sons schooling was never factored into the plan. Judging by that I'm assuming we might be able to qualify for a 7? Anyway, we will talk to our lawyer- or find another one that can help.
