A collection agency has called my parents and I spoke

Customer Question

A collection agency has called my parents and I spoke to them last night. They are going to call me back today at 3:30 P.M. and discuss the matter of my account. I have consulted a bankruptcy attorney and I am filing bankrputcy. What do I tell the collection agency when they call?

Just tell them that you are filing BR and that their claim will be listed on your petition along with the rest - filling BR stops all collection efforts and will give oyu peace of mind. Also review your rights under the Federal Dair Debt COllection Practices Act so that these bill collectors won't harrass you or your parents. See here:

All the best,
