Thank you for your question.
Unfortunately, the legal system allows anyone to bring a lawsuit against another, whether there is merit or not. In this case, unless the credit card company considered your income in deciding whether to issue the credit card and/or unless you were a signatory to the contract between the credit card company, they probably are unable to hold you responsible for the loan. In which case, you would merely defend yourself in the lawsuit with a defense premised upon this not being your debt.
You may consider having the Complaint reviewed by a local consumer law attorney to ensure that you are advised on how to respond correctly.
