Resolved Question:

If I file for bankruptcy and it is discharged, am I allowed to travel outside the US during the proceedings and after the discharge. We have recently moved back to Singapore because wife needs medical treatment for her kidneys. She gets free health care here. Our mortgage business closed so we made a decision to move to be with family. But we can not get caught up on our bills. So we need help

Bankruptcy will not have an effect on your ability to travel. HOWEVER, if you travel there will be questions as to where the money is coming from, are you hiding assets, and the like. There may be good answers but you will have to be able to make and justify them. After the discharge, it will be irrelevant.
