Hello. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X would like to assist you with your concern. My background is in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and case management of services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.Based on your description, it seems that most of the issues are behavioral. I recommend looking for a behavior analyst that specializes in autism to help you set up a system for your grandson. There is an organization called ABAI (Applied Behavior Analysis International). They may be able to connect you with someone locally or with someone who is willing to drive to where you are or even do an initial visit and then provide coaching and guidance remotely through video conferencing. I also recommend that you look into local autism support groups (or at the very least look for the closest one to where you are geographically) and connect with them. They will more than likely be able to recommend health care and behavioral health providers that are experienced in working with children or individuals with autism and Asperger's. Unfortunately, due to your location, you may need to travel in order to get your grandson the services and supports that he needs. In the future, if you feel you need the police to assist you with him, it is a good idea to let them know that he has Asperger's and the type of behavior they can expect as well as what works and what doesn't work for calming him down. This may make them more compassionate towards him and result in a less traumatic experience.I hope this has helped. If you need further assistance please let me know. There may be a time delay as I am in the United States and our time time zones are different, but please be assured that I will get back to you as soon as possible if you need additional support.
