What do I do if I'm unexpectedly pregnant and my health insurance won't cover me due to waiting periods?

hello
I do not think there is any other option here but to pay for the private health cover personally, then ask for a rebate via Medicare.

The waiting period cannot be 'waived'

You can try by filing a complaint with the ombudsman:
https://www.fos.org.au/

But I would suggest it will be fruitless. They, as well as the company will simply say that it should have been planned earlier.
