I have qbe mortgage insurance and was hit by a car rendering

Customer Question

Hi I have qbe mortgage insurance and was hit by a car rendering me disabled in feb 2013. The insurance paid for my mortgage for three years ( Ceased in feb 2016 ). The settlement has only just been made and I am still 8-10 weeks from receiving a settlement of 60k ( my portion of the 200k total settlement ). That's eight months where by I have had no means to pay my mortgage and am now forced to sell my home.
JA: Because real estate law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: Do I have any recourse ? I am in NSW
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: In what regard? Filed/reported to whom?
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: Thank you no

8 to 10 weeks is extreme to await settlement.
Do you not have a solicitor engaged to chase it up for you?
Sorry to ask the obvious, just do not want to give info without knowing the full story?
