If I receive a redundancy payment, will my assessable income

Customer Question

If I receive a redundancy payment, will my assessable income go up? Also does this mean my child support payments will go up?

HelloGenerally no, as it is not considered a salary, if anything it may go down by default if you are unemployed for a time. Sometimes the agency does ask for an upfront payment with a redundancy payment, BUT it is quite rare and usually only where redundancy packages are extremely high for example.
