My lease contract rural plantation included that the rent

my lease contract for a rural plantation included that the rent shall be review every year. The landlord di not charge CPI for 8 years and wants now the CXPI for the whole time. Does he has the right?

Generally no, as it is a payment that he should have arranged previously.
He, being in a position of a landlord, needs to have the business sense to arrange and have you pay this previously.
The agreement says, what it says and is not negotiable unless you agree to same.
