What you are told by TPG is incorrect
I personally have my phones with Telstra and my Internet with TPG.
I am not sure why you are speaking with NBN, my understanding is they do internet connections and I dont think you can have 2 internet providers.
You do not have to bundle your phone and internet that is incorrect and if you look at the TPG website you can see they offer internet on its own without phone.
You do not have to change your phone over and you should advise them of what their website shows and if they do not listen then threaten to report them to the Telecommunications ombudsman because the information is false.
