An Australia Entertainment Agency posted a job advert on

Customer Question

An Australia Entertainment Agency posted a job advert on their website. The advert was for singers to apply for work to a UK Theatrical Company. I repeated the advert on my website. I have received a “cease and desist” message from the Australian Agency,
who claim that by copying the job advert, I am breaching their copyright. I am not aware that a job advert is copyright. Are they correct, and if so, in which country would any legal action take place? Thank You.

there is no copyright issue. You are not passing off anything, not obtained any benefit regardless.
There should not be any legal action taken, but if it was to commence, it would be arguable both ways, either Australia or in the UK.
