not dissolving tablet on any cycle
Already Tried: changed the tablet put cleaner though unit checked spray arm rotation
Hi there and welcome to the site, thank you for your inquiry today,Please remember to rate my assistance today after helping you with your inquiry.May I have the full model number and brand of your dishwasher please?
My dishwasher is a Westinghouse model 907
First indication of trouble was the detergent tablet not fully dissolving and cleaning of items was poor.
Switched to another brand of tablet but same result
Have checked free rotation of spray arms - think maybe temperature too low.
Installed a cleaning compound and cycled this on 'heavy' but wax seal on bottle did not melt to release contents.
I am a qualified fitter and can understand and repair faults if I can get a diagnosis from you.
Ivan,
Hi Ivan,Its a Westinghouse SB907 ?The tablet is being placed into the wash compartment base, not the dispesner correct?
Tablet has been placed in the dispenser in the door
Door opens OK but tablet not dissolved - still in dispenser or fallen to base and still not dissolved
Ivan
Hi Ivan,I want you to do a test for me please?Place a tablet directly onto the base of the wash compartment and run a normal cycle through the dishwasher. If the tablet disolves, the dispensor isnt opening at the correct time.If it still doesnt disolve, then we will look at other causes of this*Ca you do that please?
I did as you requested.
The tablet placed in the bottom of the wash compartment has dissolved completely during a normal cycle and the items appear clean as they would when the machine was in good order.
Over to you.
Okay, excellent, thank you IvanThe dispenser solenoid is most likely the culprit here. You have 2 choices now.Place the tablet on the floor of the dishwasher as we have just done and use the machine in this manner. (No cost at all)Or, replace the dispenser module in the door. The dispenser has an electric solenoid which is supposed to mechanically open the door and release the detergent when signaled from the main controller. Yous isn't functioning correctly. If you wish to replace the dispenser solenoid, here is what you are up against.Click here for the dispenser video<<<<<<<<My dispenser broke around 3 years ago, I still just place a tablet on the wash compartment floor and use it like this, I find the wash quality is actually better than using the dispenser*The parts contact:Big Warehouse spares* (Select full model number from list*) SB907( *** ) Need extra numbers/letters http://spares.bigwarehouse.com.au/index.php?cPath=64685_79594If you have any further questions, just ask, I'm happy to answer them and hopefully receive a positive rating from you regarding your question.Thank you for using Just Answer.

Having had washes with good results since placing tablet in washer compartment rather than dispenser I'm pleased to report problem solved. I won't instal another dispenser solenoid.
Many thanks for the good advice.
Thanks Ivan,Cheers.
