Customer Question

Asko 1705. The detergent compartment remains closed throughout the wash. The tablet stays in compartment and the small button to open the compartment is a little stiff.

Optional Information:
Brand: asko 1705
Type of Appliance: Dishwasher

Already Tried:
I have unscrewed the front panel to find a solinoid type of thing which moves the catch of the compartment. Could that be a faulty solinoid?

Hi, I am still waiting. This may be a common problem on the 1705 and I am wondering if replacing the solinoid will fix the problem. Thankyou.

Hi there and welcome to the site, thank you for your inquiry today,

Please remember to rate my assistance at the end of our dealings as this is a requirement of using our services, at any time you may ask further questions if you feel the need.

The solenoid on the detergent dispenser is the problem here. The controller signals the solenoid to open at a certain time within a wash program and if your detergent dispenser is not opening at all, then the electric solenoid isn't working inside the door to release the cover and dispense.

Here is a basic guide on how to change a dishwasher detergent dispenser solenoid. It isn't for your exact model, but I'm sure you would like as many tips as possible for doing this repair if you are going to attempt this yourself.

For ASKO parts support:

To inquire about spare parts, please call toll free on 1300 00 2756.

Get a price on both the solenoid, and the complete dispenser as whole unit, sometimes the price isn't that different.

If you have any further questions, please just ask me, I’m happy to try and meet your expectations today and receive a good rating for my advice regarding your inquiry,

Thank you.
