westinghouse LD505E dryer.Automatic cycle does not engage heater. o drying takes hoursManual cycle works fine. usually 60 min setting enough. Two sensors on heater block seem ok.Thus suspect moisture sensor.Where is it & how can I check it?
If the manual cycle works normally but the auto cycle does not---then you just have a problem with the timer itself. The heater and sensors are all working properly or else the dryer wouldn't heat during the manual cycle. The only difference during the automatic cycle and the manual cycle is that the contact inside the timer changes to change up the heating and timer advancement functions. Something is going on with the timer itself and it will need to be ordered and replaced to fix this problem I'm afraid to say.All I ask of you is to please rate me with one of the top 3 ratings. Thanks for that, I replaced the control board assuming that would include the timer.Since that did not work I thought a moisture sensor might be involved which is why I asked what I did.So, is the timer not on the control board? And is there no moisture sensor?I found a black sensor (small, 2 wires) in the back in the drum air outlet. What is that? Thanks in advance
