Hi there and welcome to the website, thank you for your inquiry,

Please remember to rate my answer when given based on the service you have received here today. If there are any problems at all, please respond so we may have a positive outcome.

When you say it defrosts every 4-5 hours, you mean it fully defrosts everything in the freezer? How long does it stop for when this occurs please if you leave the power on?

Customer replied 317 days ago.

It doesn't seem to come back on.
I came home from a holiday to ind it had stopped cooling.
Turned it on andboff at the powerr before I went to bed, and it came on and started o cool. Whn I got up, it had stopped cooling again.
Turned it off and on before going to work, and it started cooling. I cme home and it had stopped cooling.
I turned power off and on at the plug when I came home, an it has been cooling ever since.

There is a problem with the automatic defrost system on this fridge,

Either the defrost thermostat sesnor is faulty, or one of the 2 eletrconic controllers is.

Are you able to use a multimeter and work on a fridge by any chance?

Customer replied 316 days and 23 hours ago.

No, i can not

Well, I can give you an answer and link you to the part that you should change first, and give you a run down on how to go about changing it,,,etc

Its up to you? I dont want to recieve negative feedback if your not happy with my answer because your unable to do the repair either, but I am happy to help if you would like me to,,

Just let me know wither way okay,,

Customer replied 316 days and 23 hours ago.

I would not give negative feedback due to lack of my own skill. If you could send through part details and any other information you gave it would be appreciated. I will arrange for someone with more skill to complete the repairs as required.

Sorry, for some reason your reply only just came through.

Youd be suprised how many people do leave negative feedback here when they realise it isnt something they can do personaly.

I think your problem is related to the defrost thermostat. When the fridge switches into defrost mode as it should do every 5-8 hours, the heater element switches on and the motor stops. When the fridge has defrosted sufficiently, the defrost thermostat terminates the heater element, and tells the controller that the fridge has now defrosted and then starts the motor back up.

On the older systems, this was done by a defrost timer, it was mechanical. In your case, the fridge is digital. So it works of sensors and electronic circuit boards etc,,,

Here is the defrost thermostat sensor,

FOr $40 it is worth changing and seeing how it goes. To get to it, the inside rear panel needs to be removed inside the freezer compartment. Once the panel is removed, you will be able to identify the old one by visually matching it with the new part, it is just a matter of unplugging it and re fitting the new one...and securing it into place with a zip tie... one should come with the part,,,

To remove the freezer fan panel, remove all the shelves, undo all the screws on the rear panel(Might be hidden by white plastic caps) and then pull the panel forward okay,

If at any time you require further assistance with this, just drop me a reply okay,

This may also help (Give you an idea)

And for the other 2 main circuit baords and other parts for your fridge*
