I have a Dometic refrigerator in my caravan which broke down whilst on holiday . the model is RM 7390 (L). The Caravan with the fridge is now at my home , at the following address , 4 chemin de la source 1261 le vaud Switzerland . I want some service either to repair it or replace it with a new one . I have telephoned the nearest agent in Preverenges, and Zurich offices but I get no help . I am getting desperate can you help me to get some service please .Antony Stocks

Hi Antony and welcome to JA,Unfortunately if you are too far away from the service agents, then getting it serviced by someone who knows the fridge well, is going to be extremely hard.You either need to try a local fridge repair technician in your area, or, send the fridge to the manufacturer via a courier and have them repair and send the unit back to you via courier.It would probably be cheaper to buy a new one though, by the time you cover courier costs and repair costs* etc..This is all I can suggest mate, Im in Australia so Im not sure about local repair services in Switzerland*

What bugs me most is that the nearest agent is only 36 kms away from my house where the fridge is , and although I have told them I will pay for the transportation and travel , they still do not even agree to look at it . Where I have the problem ,is with this poor service . I am 72 years old , am not going to start taking a fridge to bits and dismantleing and transporting it . I want some service from Dometic or someone .The points you have given I had already weighed up .Antony
36 klms and they wont come out, that is poor service indeed.I wouldnt bother buying their products again.. that really is slack support...I hope you told them so also..I wish I could help more, perhaps it would be best to contact a local fridge repair service who is prepared to come out yes?Either that or just start over new?
Yesterday I contacted the swiss office of the manufacturer and they have come back to me with a suggestion of a local caravan repairer. I visited this caravan sales departmentthis afternoon and they are full up with work untill October . I have rung back the manufacturer , and they have said they will look for other ideas and telephone me tomorrow. So I will see what they have to offer. I will keep you informed as the Swiss Manufacturer have said in their first contact that " they will solve this problem if I give them time . I am sorry I did not answer your question , but I did not understand the system .
