When driving just cuts out and after a couple of minutes

when driving just cuts out and after a couple of minutes starts again seem to happen only when weather is really hot temp gauge is normal has done it a couple of times in the past but now a lot more often never done it in the winter etc any suggestions please cheers
JA: Have you checked the coolant? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: no radiators always full but i can change coolant with new stuff
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 1999 au wagon auto

Customer: nothing yet would like to do myself as have always done most work like brakes servicing etc nevr had any problems before

that is a sign of a weak crankshaft sensor or a bad ignition switch
