I was told to replace a PCM module on my ba xt falcon.

Customer Question

I was told to replace a PCM module on my ba xt falcon. Without delay I found a second hand one. The car doesn't recognise it and wants a code entered. I am not sure how to do this or what the code is. It has stopped the car. Can I either put the old one back in or can I reprogram the new one here and now. I am rural and have no way of being without this vehicle.
JA: Do you have a scan tool to read the codes?
Customer: No,was given done very wrong advice by a mechanic
JA: What year is your Falcon?
Customer: 2003
JA: Are you fixing your Falcon yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: The raa
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No thank you. Anything he can help with would be nice.

My name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I noticed that your question had not received a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.

Usually this code needs done by a dealer as they sometimes have to actually program the computer for it to operate in your model here. They will usually charge around an hours labor to do this. You should be able to reinstall your old computer to get it running for now though.

If more help is needed, use the reply tab to continue our conversation. If no further assistance is needed, kindly rate my service, your 5 star rating is appreciated. You can rate at any time and we can continue to work on your question as this will not close out your question.Keep in mind in some cases it can be difficult to fully diagnose or help repair your vehicle without seeing it and I work on delivering the best possible answer from what I see to work with.

Thanks Pete
