Hi there,

Does this only happen first thing in the morning?

Does it come good after you start the engine?

If not, you need to replace the screen, but I would recommend Subaru does the job for you.

Problem is intermittent. I am pretty involved in electronics/tech & have my own research has the monitor as a "standalone" (ie screen output/touch input). I can pickup an OEM touchscreen (same size) for under a $100. If I go to dealer, I will be charged almost 10x that. Any advice on the specs of the monitor? OEM recommended replacement?
Expert:  Gary replied 6 months ago.

Ok, if you are quite savvy at this sort of job, yes it is a touch screen monitor.

OEM only for me.

Please verify the part numbers are the same during the swap.

Do you know the part number?
I can then get the specs (dpi etc/connectors)
Expert:  Gary replied 6 months ago.

Unfortunately I don't know the part number.

It could be the screen or the NAV unit, here's a discussion:

Thanks Gary, I ended up doing my own research & found full part numbers from Subaru/Kenwood, full schematic/wiring/pin diagrams, specs & even tracked down original manufacturer of the monitor/panels. Thanks for your assistance, however I managed to find the solution myself. All the best, Chris

Hopefully you can sort your problem now.

All the best to you.
