My crewman is having all sorts of problems in last 3 months

Customer Question

My crewman is having all sorts of problems in last 3 months with drive train warning light regularly coming on with no apparent problem with drive train. Also have had water heating problems, and thermostat o ring leaking apparently which is an expensive repair
JA: What part of the car is the leak coming from? And are you sure it's water?
Customer: definately water as coolant reservoir is empty and radiator empty , coolant rservoir just runs water to ground when topping up
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2006 crewman vz
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: no I have had it towed to service repair joint but its has been an ongoing issue from water pump to thermostat
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Yes if the thermostat Oring needs replacing why is it such an expensive job

Hi there,

The thermostat housing is at the back of the engine, that's why it is a labour intensive job.

Alloytec V6 is known for weeping welch plugs from the cylinder heads above the valley area of the cylinder block.

When this happens coolant appears to leaking from water pump or thermostat housing.

The drivetrain light is for engine and transmission, so it probably is from engine overheating.

What codes are set in the PCM?
