Customer Question

I have a 316 CDI Sprinter which has a coolant leak I thought it was a hose but I noticed a slight leak coming from the centre of the engine at the front
JA: How old are the hoses? And have you tested the actual mix of your coolant?
Customer: I have owned the van for 7 months so not sure ut its definitely not the hoses
JA: What year is your Sprinter?
Customer: 2012
JA: Are you fixing your Sprinter yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Im not a mechanic so no I won't be fixing it it was hard to find as it was dripping to ground from the sump
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no it can be intermittent it sits at home for periods of time as it is a converted ambulance to motor home with 115,00 k on the odometer

Sometimes, due to the clutter under the hood, it's difficult to isolate where leaks are coming from. This is why it's been made easier by adding dye to the coolant, then check for the leak with a black light. It shows up after about 5 minutes of running the motor.

Thanks, Ron
