JA: What year is your Captiva?
Customer: It is a 2012
JA: Are you fixing your Captiva yourself? What have you tried so far?

Hi Greg,

It is quite common to pierce the large oval harness grommets as part of the harness, but through the flat rubber next to the harness.

There is not many other ways.

If yours is an auto, have a look at the firewall where the clutch master cylinder would go, if it was a manual transmission.

Gary,
This car is auto and does not have a gromet where the clutch master cylinder would have been. Is there a blank welded in and can I drill it out. I there another gromet, I would prefer to go through a existing grommet beside an existing wiring.

Hi Greg,

I would look up under the dash where the bonnet cable goes through the firewall.

Accelerator pedal harness etc.

There should be a spot within an existing grommet that you can poke a wire through.
