Cruise control internal light flashes when turned on.. consequently not engaging
JA: While using the cruise control can you accelerate or decelerate? Have you checked the fuses?
Customer: cruise control not engaging light on dash flashes .. accellerating or decelerating does not engage switch xtrail anniversary model
JA: What is the model/year of your Nissan?
Customer: Model T30 year 6/2006
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Am trying to find out if it is possible for a DIY job but need to identify the source ce of the problem first eg., bad connection on throttle or whatever Fuses ?
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I am a little reluctant to commit it to a garage without some indication of a cost of repair.. hundreds of dollars or even more ?

Hey there, thanks for the question.

This is usually an easy fix. There are two switches above the brake pedal. The ASCD cancel switch and the stop lamp switch. Check to make sure the brake lamps are not stuck on when not pressing the brake and make sure the brake lamps work normally. If they do, then you likely have a faulty ASCD cancel switch is all, or it needs to be adjusted. If you notice a brake lamp issue then it's likely the stop lamp switch causing the problem.
