Series 200 landcruiser 2010, 4L light flashing but 4 L will

Customer Question

series 200 landcruiser 2010
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 4L light flashing but 4 L will not engage
JA: Just to clarify, can you tell me which light it is? And does it blink first, then stay on steady?
Customer: 4L light flashing but 4L does not engage -engine warning light on VSC light flashing - Vehicule drives OK
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No not fixing myself but want to understand the problem and make sure I am not doing any further damage by driving it. I intend to take it into a Toyota Service Center for repair
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: On cold start - I think it is the ABS system hums for a long time then when it stops it makes a sound sounds like exhaust braking.

Hello there,

Sounds like a wheel speed sensor or transfer case actuator fault.

Do you have a Toyota dealer near you?

Can we get a scan done on the vehicle?

Customer: replied 12 days ago.
I can get it to a Toyota dealer. Presume the dealer will carry out the scan?
Customer: replied 12 days ago.
Would that explain what I experience on cold start and would the speed sensor effect the 4L Activation or Vice Versa
Expert:  Gary replied 12 days ago.

Yes, I would say all interrelated.

Your dealer will scan it first, and give you a quote for necessary repair.

Hopefully only a sensor.

I hope you can get it sorted soon.
