JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: its a new battery
JA: What is the model/year of your Mercedes?
Customer: CLS500 2005

Customer: Just replaced the battery with anew one as we thought it was the battery

Hi Im David, your alternator is bad. to confirm this check voltage at the battery. fully charged should be 12.5vdc. start the vehicle if your alternator is working the voltage should read around 14.4vdc. if not, replace the alternator
