hello i have recently done an oil change on my 2013 ford ranger , i have been told not to drain for longer than ten minutes which i did, so there is potential my oil pump has drained too. what course of action do i take to reprime it?
JA: Have you checked the fluids recently?
Customer: changed it yesterday haven't turned the engine on though
JA: Are you fixing your Ranger yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: only changed the engine oil yes i did myself filter fuel filter and air filter
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: just how to reprime my oil pump if I've left the engine drain for too long

Hello

you can get the oil pump to re-prime by removing the oil filter cannister and use an oil can to squirt about 1/2 a pint of oil into the centre oil feed hole

this should then back fill the oil gallery and encourage the pump to prime up
