Customer Question

Have to replace 95 nissan 300zx non turbo auto. Main ecu. Not sure on ecu serial code
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: Nope. Apoarently its an 89 ecu!
JA: Are you fixing your 300ZX yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No mechanic. Let me know ecu was from an 1989 model which is 8bit. 1995 model is 16 bit. Can't find right ecu. The sticker says r5
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

You may be able to order a factory replacement ECM but it may be discontinued due to age. A used or aftermarket remanufactured module may be necessary.

Do you have the part number from the module?

It appears that someone has been trying to find one but has been unsuccessful? If so, what has been tried?
