The timing chain/belt has failed and not only can i not find out if it's a belt or chain i can't get anything out of Chrysler either. No one will quote the job until they are sure which it is

JA: How many miles on the car? How responsive has your car been lately?
Customer: 137500 klm and it was normal till I turned it off and tried to start it 10 mins later wouldn't start spluttered a lot and made very expensive sounding noises
JA: Are you fixing your MINI yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: The 300c is new to me, just made sure the water pump wasn't the cause I'm not sure if I know enough about a 5.7lt
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
