Australian Car Repair Issues? Ask an Auto Mechanic for Answers ASAP
I know Commodore very well.
What codes are set in the PCM after this rough running occurs?
You have paid for 6 spark plugs, and 6 coils?
Your workshop is just guessing?
The PCM is the Powertrain Control Module (engine computer).
Hopefully your workshop scanned the PCM for codes prior to any repairs.
Of course, it might be or might might not be the same fault.
So if can find the first codes, and maybe after contacting them, they may want to scan it again.
Come back to me when you get some more info.
Do you need any further help?
I hope my advice has been of assistance to you.
What did THEY do for that code?
C0800 is a low voltage code in the ABS module, can happen from low voltage while starting the engine.
I have seen a corroded battery harness connector near the battery, ONLY in a UTE.
How is the car running now?
Fairly typical these days, batteries are a common cause for issues during or after startup.
Some cars won't start at all if the battery falls below 10 volts.
VE V6 are better, but early 9s are about the limit.
Hope you are all good now.
You are welcome Craig.
Have a good day.
