Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

It sounds as if either the transmission control module isn't awake or you're missing transmission range sensor signal. The trans controller could be down due to a loss of power or ground to it or an internal failure, if the problem is with the range sensor signal it could be a wiring problem or the sensor itself.

The first step in diagnosing the problem will be to use a code reader or scan tool to see if the TCM is awake, and if so what fault codes are set. Do you know if the TCM will communicate?
