May be several problems but want to sort out the hesitating prob. Car runs well when on highway, and when cold. Bit once warm, and idling hesitates a lot on take off, and idles rough. On gas its worse..cant use gas for city driving..will stall on gas. But no issue on highway.

Engine makes a whirring/ buzzing sound..but goes away. Sometimes a screaming sound but will go away when I manually change gear. Belts seem to be tight.

Could it be intake manifold gasket?

when you say xh...as in xh ford?,stuck thermostat/running way too cold is common with these, will cause exactly what you describe, temp gauge needle should be on r or m of 'normal'in temp gauge, genuine ford thermostat works best.
