Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are many possible causes or limp in. Limp in happens when the transmission control module sees an issue that will prevent proper operation and sets a fault code.

Possible causes for limp in include solenoids, speed sensors, wiring, internal transmission issues and even the trans controller itself.

The first step in diagnosing the problem will be to use as can tool or code reader to see what fault codes are setting in the TCM, and then testing will be done based on the findings.
