WHY DOES MY IQ 70 NOT ALWAYS BRAKE WHEN I DRIVE UP BEHIND

Customer Question

WHY DOES MY IQ 70 NOT ALWAYS BRAKE WHEN I DRIVE UP BEHIND SOME CARS, AND YET IT BRAKES AND STOP BEHIND OTHERS

Hi Peter,

Any collision avoidance system uses a combination of radar and/or camera inputs to determine size and distance of objects. Some objects may not present well to the system. They are designed to see a normal vehicle within a set of parameters.

The system is a supplementary safety system, and so would only normally take over in the advent the driver is unaware of a pending collision.

I would not trust any vehicle system like this as the primary.

The driver is always the primary.

Hope this helps.
