JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with a car. The Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: If I select reverse or drive the vehicle will not select that gear. It stays in park
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: Only if it's easy.
JA: Is there anything else the Mechanic should be aware of about your car?

Hi there,

Sounds like the selector cable has come off at the transmission selector lever.

Worn bush at the end of the cable.

If you lie under the car, you can see the cable where it goes onto the lever.
