Mate hope you can helpi have a 1992 gq patrol 4.2 efi

Customer Question

hi mate hope you can help
i have a 1992 gq patrol 4.2 efi duel fuel
intermitting problem does not happen all the time but most days
flat spot at the very start of the peddle
just slightly touch the peddle and no go I'm talking push the peddle millimetres,
then push mm more and it goes, its like all of a sudden power
when the car is running like this it idles from nearly stalling to 1100 rpm,
up and down and its hard to take of because it bunny hopes and will not run,by slowly working the accelerator i can get it moving, sometimes it cuts out while moving for a second
it can run like this for 10 klm or more then other times it runs fine
The car also cut out on gas all of a sudden too
when on gas sometime will not start on gas and other times it will
when driving along it will be running fine on gas and all of a sudden the gas will just drop out and engine stops at any speed,
so i flick it to petrol and it will run,
some times i can flick back to gas straight away and it will run again on gas and sometime when i flick it back to gas it won't run,
sometimes for 20mins or more,
any ideas ?
kind regards roger

Hi Roger,Sorry from the site for a late reply.Dual fuel vehicles are more complex, and can have tricky problems.I would suggest to take the vehicle to an LPG servicing centre near you.Wishing you all the best.Gary
