Australian Car Repair Issues? Ask an Auto Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here. The type of whine you are describing in most cases is the early signs of bearing wear and usually means at some point they will need to be replaced. The over reeving is not likely related and is likely the throttle is hanging up or the IAC (idle air control) valve is sticking and cleaning it and the throttle body may resolve this problem.
Graham you may want to try having the fluid in the transmission changed as well if it has not been done already.
