97 2.6L petrol rodeo engine stopped when driving. Good

Customer Question

97 2.6L petrol rodeo engine stopped when driving. Good battery and also tried another battery. Lights, blinkers, horn etc all work; engine cranks over but won't start; fuel tank fuel pump putting out plenty of pressure after filter; pump will not run for the 2 seconds with ignition on but is running when starter engaged; there does not appear to any spark at the spark plugs; all small hoses etc are connected with no cracks or chafes; checked every fuse under the dash and the fuses, fuel pump and engine relays under the bonnet. All good. Switching the ignition to on - the engine check light comes on with the oil, battery and parking brake warning lights. Move to start, lights stay on, engine cranks but no start. Can you help ???

Hi there,

If the car has no spark, then your distributor is probably faulty.
