Customer Question

I have a Holden rodeo 2007 3 litre turbo diesel. It has total loss of power but will always start and idle. Problem started when I was driving along. I have changed fuel filters. Have had limp mode light reset but light still comes back on.

Hi there,

Sounds like a failing in-tank pump.

Becoming very common now.

The model is Isuzu KB P190 and from downloads of the fuel system, it doesn't appear to have an in-tank pump.

Hi there,

Which engine do you have, 4JH1 or 4JJ1?

Isuzu may different to Holden, Holden does have an intank pump.

Here is some info regarding checking for air leaks:

Hi again,

If has a Holden badge, it has an intank pump.

I believe the Isuzu version also does.

If it put the engine light on, the DTC that set should be diagnosed.

My bet is low fuel rail pressure.

There is a revised Suction control valve (for Holden only) on the back of the HP pump.
