Hi there,

If you have changed the module, is the configuration correct?

There are a few different setups depending on vehicle level.

If the auto electrician has a TECH 2, he should know how to set the config.

Hi there again,

With a new module, the configuration needs to be setup for the number of airbag loops etc.

If this is done correctly, and the module does not store DTCs, what is the cranking voltage of the vehicle?

Does the engine start up ok, or sluggish cranking?

Hi again,

Can your sparky look at data and the config file?

Something is a mismatch.

Has he made sure the airbag light goes out if the SRS (airbag) module is disconnected?

Gary

even with the old module the same thing was happening so im guessing its not the module cause even the old module was hooked up to tech 2 and reset and still no error codes came up

Hi Julie,

I would say your sparky has "jumped the gun".

The instrument cluster warning lamp for the airbag is staying illuminated for another reason, other than the SRS module providing the ground, hence changing the module has made no difference.

Ask the sparky has he done a vehicle wide DTC check, the instrument cluster may have communication DTCs set.

A bad mistake made by lots of techs is to not do a vehicle wide DTC check.

I hope I can get to the bottom of this for you.
