Hi there,

What's wrong with your Astra?

Are you having problems with the hardtop operation?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi. Yes with the hard top. It doesn't seem to open.

Hi there,

The folding roof has many components, and if one fails - a sensor, parcel shelf flap motor, wiring in the boot hinge area etc, then the roof will not operate. If it is closed ok at the moment, then it would be best to take it to a Holden dealer for diagnosis. There will be DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) set in the HTC (hardtop controller).

I work for Holden and have done many Astra softtop and hardtop faults.

Hope this helps.

Holden charge so much. I think its a problem with one of the switches.

Hi again,

Yes, I understand they do, I work for a Brisbane dealer.

But it still will be worthwhile for a DTC check of the HTC, then you may know where to start.

Without some GM diagnosis, you will be only guessing.

Do you have the luggage blind pulled back in the boot?

Does it give you a sequence of chimes when you press the open button and the roof does not respond?

Does the boot open normally from the unlock button on the boot lid?

Do the windows drop an inch when you press the open button?

Do the front windows stay down a little when you the shut the door and then go up fully?
