Hi There, It certainly sounds like one of the driven bearings is on its way out & needs replacing. The two most likely are the timing belt &/or idler & the water pump bearings. Both are resolved by whole tensioner & water pump replacement.I've used a piece of rubber tube as a stethoscope in the past to locate noise sources with some accuracy. The timing gears/ sprockets could be worn in a high mileage unit, but that is unlikely to be creating noise, unless loose on their keyway or loose securing bolt etc..I hope this points you in the right direction..CheersScott
