My name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.
In some cases this type of fault here can be caused by a restriction in the exhaust system like a catalytic converter being restricted or another exhaust component.I have seen this occur several times before in the past.If you have not had the exhaust back pressure tested at all this needs done to see if the back pressure is excessive. If excessive back pressure is found it will need to be corrected to resolve this issue. This can cause the exhaust fumes to build up and be sucked into the inlet into the car as well.
Thanks Pete
