Hi my 2004 nissan xtrail is having difficulty starting sometimes and when I drive it it sometimes just cuts out, occasionally I can feel it wanting to cut out but if you push the accelerator a bit it it keeps going. My mechaninc seems to think it is the CKP sensor that is the problem, but I am a bit worried he doesnt really know as I am in fiji and mechanics here can be a bit touch and go

Hi, yes we are still waiting for a response, what additional info does the expert need?
Hello the CKP or crankshaft position sensor on the 2.5lt x-trail is prone to failure and would definitely be worth looking at. Has your mechanic connected the vehicle to a scan tool to verify the CKP signal is missing, that would be my first move. Hope this helps.Regards Andrew.
