Hi I have a 98 Ford Transit with 530,000klm on the clock, it has sat at my cousins for a few years and the exhaust manifold was leaking. Just about to replace the gaskets and thought I'd better fix the leak around one injector as it's getting worse. It runs really well, a 2.5tdi and apparently a good motor or model before the 2.4tdi Duo from Forums. Do you think it's as simple as replacing the seals, I read an online manual that said if I have a look I have to replace them as they will leak. I also read some injectors get stuck half way and the head has to come off. This is a good motor so I'm hoping it will be straight forward.Another thing - I did a starter motor and got one to replace it and the cogs mesh a little before engaging. The old one just turned over, it only goes for about 1-2 seconds but a little unsettling and doesn't seem right, like it's not throwing forward enough initially.Peter
Optional Information: Make: Ford Model: VG Transit Year: 27/05/1998 Already Tried: I ahve limited funds and just been monitoring the leak from an injector. It has sat for a few years and some things are leaking, the exhaust manifold, some water and oil. So I thought I would have a look and sometimes when you don't find anything and put it back together it stops leaking, sort of hoping that would happen but read the seals will leak if I don't replace them. Getting hard to get stuff for it here in Hobart Tasmania au. Ok online though, the starter came from South Australia
